Barbara has extensive experience leading effective communications programs for clients in the U.S. and internationally, from disruptive start-ups to leading institutions, including developing media campaigns, advising on partnership and revenue-generating programs, creating comprehensive digital and owned content programs, and guiding internal communications and crisis management.

Since joining Resnicow and Associates in 2015, her projects have included the opening of the Institute of Contemporary Art, Miami’s new permanent home in the Miami Design District in advance of Art Basel Miami Beach 2017 and the museum’s pioneering acquisition of an NFT in 2021; the launch of the groundbreaking experiential art venture Superblue and its flagship venue in Miami; national campaigns for the launch of Frieze Los Angeles and the launch of Frieze Sculpture in New York at Rockefeller Center; and the creation of the Art Dealers Association of America’s (ADAA) annual industry report and the 2020-2021 COVID Impact Report. She has also led campaigns for the U.S. Pavilion at the 2017 Venice Biennale, the civic and cultural initiative Vision & Justice; Sharjah Art Foundation and the Sharjah Biennial; the Cisneros Fontanals Art Foundation (CIFO); the Dallas Museum of Art; and the Gordon Parks Foundation, among others. In 2017, she worked with the Wallace Foundation and its grantees across the U.S. to launch and produce a series of editorial and video content to support the foundation’s six-year $52-million “Building Audiences for Sustainability” initiative.

Her previous roles have spanned communications, marketing, and programming, including at Aperture Foundation (New York), where she oversaw communications, media relations, and events for more than 120 publications and initiatives annually; Phillips de Pury (New York); Transformer (Washington, DC); and SUNY Purchase College, where she was adjunct faculty in arts marketing. She received a master’s degree in museum studies from Johns Hopkins University and graduated cum laude from Catholic University of America with a double major in art history and philosophy.
