#ColoringFromHome: Livestream Daily Coloring Sessions Led By Artists Rashid Johnson, Walead Beshty, and Alex Israel, among others

Event Date:
30 March 2020

In this current moment of isolation and unpredictability, RxART--a non-profit that commissions contemporary artists to create site-specific installations in pediatric hospitals across the country--is finding ways for the creative community to stay connected and make a difference in our daily lives.

On Monday March 30 at 4:00pm EST, RxART will launch #ColoringFromHome, a series of daily coloring sessions on Instagram Live featuring RxART artists including Rashid Johnson, Walead Beshty, Tara Lewis, Daniel Heidkamp, Susumu Kamijo, Abel Macias, Alex Israel, and Jeffrey Gibson.

Every weekday at 4:00pm EST beginning 3/30, a featured artist will complete a page from RxART’s coloring book designed by the participating artists themselves. Artists, some of whom will be joined by their families, will welcome RxART community members and the general public to tune in and draw along, providing a way to connect and find solace in creativity.

At a time when audiences are confined at home and looking for respite from the unsettling news cycle, RxART’s #ColoringFromHome initiative offers a way to maintain community and creativity.
