John Alchin Elected to the Barnes Foundation Board of Trustees
The Board of Trustees of the Barnes Foundation today announced that John R. Alchin, who most recently served as Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Financial Officer of Comcast Corporation, has been elected to the Board of Trustees.

John Alchin joined Comcast in 1990 as Senior Vice President and Treasurer. In 2002, he was appointed Executive Vice President and Co-Chief Financial Officer, a position he held until his retirement in 2008. Prior to joining Comcast, Mr. Alchin was a Managing Director of Toronto Dominion Bank, where he was active in founding the bank’s U.S. Communications Finance Group in 1980, which rapidly became the largest lender to the cable television industry.
Mr. Alchin serves as a member of the Board of Directors of Ralph Lauren Corporation and Xplornet Communications, Inc., Markham, Ontario, Canada. He serves on the Board of Trustees of BNY Mellon Funds Trust and the Philadelphia Museum of Art. He is also a member of the Advisory Board of MANNA (Metropolitan Area Neighborhood Nutrition Alliance), the Advisory Group of Catalyst Investors LP, and the Finance Committee of Big Brothers Big Sisters Independence Region.
Mr. Alchin earned his BA and MBA degrees from the University of Toronto.
