In the live webinar and Q&A “Understanding the Impact of the Creative Economy,” Upstart Co-Lab Founding Partner Laura Callanan moderates a discussion between participants including Fundación Compromiso Founder Carolina Biquard, Heva Fund Managing Partner George Gachara, and Conscious Endeavors LP Founder Jack Meyercord. The group will explore the impact of the Creative Economy; why the Creative Economy presents an opportunity for impact investors seeking to diversify their portfolios; and who are some of the global leaders pioneering impact investing in the Creative Economy. 

Upstart Co-Lab is disrupting how creativity is funded by connecting the $12 trillion of socially responsible and impact investing capital in the U.S. to the $878-billion U.S. creative economy. Prior to launching Upstart Co-Lab in 2015, Laura Callanan was senior deputy chair of the National Endowment for the Arts, leading grant-making, operations and research. Laura was a also consultant with McKinsey & Company’s Social Sector Office and associate director of the Rockefeller Foundation where, in addition to responsibilities managing the endowment, she co-led impact investing including investments in the creative economy: Smithsonian Folkways Records and netomat.
